In Tekken 7 you get the main story that is a couple of hours long, is all about Mishimas and is told from the perspective of some random journalist that nobody cares for. Still I wish for even more.įrom the story perspective it's no contest, SC6 is so much better it's crazy. Vanilla selection was quite poor, but thankfully it has been made significantly more vast with DLCs. The only negative is that the amount of wearable items to choose from in SC6 so far is not as expansive as in SC4 or 5. In SC6 you can actually combine different pants with different boots as well as put on multiple layers of clothes and fill additional slots like gloves, shoulder pads and so on. Outfit creator is also much better in SC, in Tekken you basically choose a hat, a top and a bottom (which includes pre-made pants and boots sets). For starters, you are not restricted to default characters, you can create an entirely new character if you want selecting from different fantasy races (humans/angels/demons/lizards/skeletons and so on). Characters also feel much more different from one another than in Tekken since in Tekken everyone fights barehanded, but in SC you have different weapons with different ranges.įrom the customisation perspective SC6 is better. It's easy to learn and understand, but hard to master if you want to play against good opponents online, also difficulty comes from knowing your character's ins and outs and being able to do right things in right circumstances as well as knowing your opponent and their capabilities. Tekken 7 is all about giant air juggle combos and I'm not a fan of that. Meanwhile writing this I KNOW I'm going to boot up SC6 when I'm done writing this to continue my Libra of souls progress and I'm 10000% sure I'll grind out the Soul Chronicle for each char and prolly then start a seperate Libra of Souls playthrough (you can choose to go good or evil within it) simply to build some goofy stories.like how my itteration of Cervantes is going for Soul Calibur and I really want a Soul Edge wielding Witcher/2B (what can I say.I just love doing the reversal.making stereotypical "good" characters go "evil")įrom the gameplay perspective I think SC6 is much better. My experience and prediction? I played through the story of Tekken 7.completed it and some side char stories and haven't touched it since. Yeah the game is more expensive.but for it's price range it puts Tekken 7 to shame and makes Tekken feel like a shameless cashgrab and SC6 a good value for money purchase. A main Story mode (Soul Chronicle) like you know from eearlier soulcalibur itterations and a museum where you can actually read up on the story Meanwhile Soulcalibur has THREE story "modes".Libra of Souls for your own personal RPG revolving around your custom char and they touch on other (main) characters in this too. ALL non-mishima characters have something like 2 minutes of cinematics and that's their storyline and the writing is beyond bad (xiaoyu's ends on a cliffhanger, King wins a wrestling match and that's it, Bryan blows up a chopper, Asuka's dojo gets bought out.and I'm not exagerating here those few words is what their ENTIRE storyarch in T7 boils down too it's an insult to storymode) I played Tekken for the individual storylines and the overarching red ribbon of the Mishima Zaibatsu storyarch.Tekken 7 ONLY has the latter: The Mishima Zaibatsu storyarch. There's a big distinction between adapting a character to fit your own preferences and making a character and fit them to a style Soul calibur really makes it feel it's YOUR avatar wheras in Tekken in the end it still feels like a Jin/Kazuya/Asuka/Heihachi-clone.Īs for Story.Soul Calibur by a mile but this is REALLY personal. Tekken USED to have great gameplay customisation from a character perspective but that ended when Soul calibur allowed you to build YOUR OWN character (using the STYLE of one of the preset characters) for me.
The ending of tekken 7 is a cliffhanger? ps2#
my question is which game should i pick? i remember playing tekken 5 back in the ps2 and had really good memories never played a tekken after that, and i played soul calibur with the xbox 360 and loved the customization of the character, i want to know which game is better in terms of gameplay customization adn story? this game is 5 times expensive than tekken 7 if i want all the dlc which is better tekken 7 or soul calibur and from your personal opinion which stand above the other?įrom a guy who struggled with the same choice and then had a financial bonus and could buy both.buy Soulcalibur Originally posted by El_Verdugo:hi! sorry if this question has been already.
